26) What are Finings?

Finings are natural agents such as Bentonite, Gelatin, and Isinglas which are added to the wine. Finings are used for clearing process in the wine. The wine is then siphoned from one container to the other just leaving the sediments and fining agents behind.

27) What does fermentation mean?

Fermentation is the important process in wine making. Fermentation is the process of converting the sugar in the juice into carbon dioxide and alcohol by the yeast. Yeast is a small single cell organism which does this process.

28) Is acid balance important?

Too much of acid in a wine makes them unfit for drinking. At the same time if the wine does not have enough acidity it will result in a flat tasting wine. That's why it is important to have a balanced acid property in wine.

29) What is meant Sulphite?

TSulphite is a natural bacterial catalyst that is used in the wine to discourage the bacteria activities which ruin the wines. Sulphite also helps in oxidation.

30) Does it is very important to filter the wine?

No it is not necessary to filter the wine since filtering does not give a wine a nice finish.
